Artist Statement

I have been an artist since childhood - selling my first artwork to a neighbour at the age of five. I work in acrylic, watercolour, chalk pastel, lino prints and screen printing. I paint a variety of subjects and genres - exploring themes until I have formed a collection of each one. I paint portraits and figures, botanicals, landscapes and, occasionally, abstracts, in an Impressionist style.

Finding comfort in nature, I am drawn to its architecture and forms – especially the grandeur of the West Coast and its blue-green palette. I am intrigued by man-made industrial forms which I employ as the basis for my silk screen prints.
